Mexican Chic Branch at Peyote, Dubai

In Dubai, you can find the best of everything. The city can satisfy any taste and food preference. Plus, with each year there is more what Dubai can offer since it is rapidly expanding. In 2018, it brought us amazing Mexican fine dining restaurant, Peyote. I am a big fan of the Latin-American cuisine so I was trilled to go and check it out. To have the full experience, I went for a brach. The concept of the branch (breakfast+lunch) is super popular in Dubai. Many people here have a tradition on Friday to go for such fun and relaxing experience, usually for the whole afternoon around 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.

About The Restaurant

Peyote located in a super fancy dining district DIFC (Dubai International Financial Center). This area is a home to many famous restaurants. Plus, it is a hub for finince and investment services. Interior of Peyote is very chic and modern with great ambiance around. Plus, the Dj plays fun sets which makes you want to dance. Service is outstanding as well, even when the restaurant got packed, staff could manage to take care of everyone. Besides, coming here you can use valet parking free of charge, just stamp the ticket on your way out.

The Menu

I came for a branch so the whole menu was already set. Peyote has two options, with or without alcoholic beverages. You can also tailor your meal for a specific diet or you can try it all. They have vegetarian, seafood and meat dishes. Moreover, you can reorder anything you like. It is actually perfect if you want to celebrate some special occasion. You just pay the entrance fee and enjoy with the guests without worrying who want to order what and the bill at the end. I saw many such groups having a blast with lots of fancy cocktails and different tequila creations. For me and my sister, they got same delicious non-alchoholic Mexican mocktails. First one was with blackberries and the second, with passion fruit, loved both of them. Food was so good and delicious that it went to my list of the best restaurants, right after the starters.

Let me know if you tried Peyote and what was your favorite thing about it. If you haven’t been there yet, I do recommend to check it out. It is a great option for visitors as well as residents after a hectic week. You will truly get a stress-free, and super fun experience.

The Best Place for a Dessert in Paris, France

During my first trip to Paris, I had an expectation that in every bakery I would get something super tasty. However, after going around and trying lots of cafes, I was surprised that it is a myth. Like in every other city, you need to know special places to buy a certain food. Luckily enough, I found my favorite place in Paris to get something delicious and freshly baked. After visiting Eiffel Tower, I was walking around Chaillot area and saw a very appealing bakery. So beautiful that could not resist to enter.

The place was La Patisserie by Cyril Lignac. Outside, as well as inside it looked like a high-end boutique. After checking beautifully looked desserts, my friend decided to try chocolate fondant. I got tempted looking at her and took Roma Baba. It was absolutely delicious, so good that I was going the rest of my trip to this patisserie and trying other sweets. The only minus of this cafe, they sell just to take away and do not have coffee. Very unusual not to serve hot beverages in such type of place but I guess they decided to specialize in one thing.

My resolution, that I have only one dessert from them during my next trip to Paris.  It is super tasty but sometimes I cannot stop eating such sweets. However, I strongly recommend to try this high-end French bakery.

  • Location – La Patisserie by Cyril Lignac, Chaillot
  • Cuisine – French desserts and bakey
  • Food quality – extraordinary
  • Food Presentation – beautiful
  • Service – excellent
  • Ambiance – high-end and luxurious
  • Parking – public
  • Price – $$ (around €5 per dessert)
  • Overall Experience – ★★★★★

Top 7 Wonderful Places to Visit in Tuscany, Italy

  1. Florence

Florence or Firenze as local say is a wonderful city full of vibes, shopping stores, and restaurants. Here you will find all top boutiques such as Chanel, Gucci, Louis Vuitton and etc., as well as mass market shops as Zara, Bershka, H&M and etc. So in other words – a shopping paradise. Besides, Florence has lots of cultural spots to visit as museums, galleries, churches, and theaters. Don’t forget the local trend to go for aperitifs before dinner. I recommend trying Westin Excelsior by the river or Cafe Gilli on Piazza della Republica. Note, that after a lunch majority of restaurants and some shops are closed for fiesta till the diner.

    2.  Fote Dei Marmi, Versilia

Forte Dei Marmi is located on the seaside; therefore, here you will find lots of beach clubs, the famous ones for sunbath are Nikki Beach, Twiga, Beach Club, and Gilda. The first three are also famous for parties at night. Also, there is a free access to the beach for those who don’t want to pay for the sunbed or get a club membership. The thing I like the most in Forte Dei Marmi is that almost everyone rides a bike even to have a dinner at the restaurant. The weather is pleasant and the roads are perfect that I enjoy as well cycling around Forte. Also, this city is a top pick among rich Russians so you will see lots of well-dressed people and best boutiques in this little village. Once you get hungry there are lots to choose from. For the dinner, my personal favorites are Bistrot, Al BocconcinoTwiga, and Nikki Beach.

3.  Siena

This is a very unusual city made of stones, while walking around is very unlikely you will see trees growing around. Siena is so different and so charming, that should be definitely on your to visit list. Besides, the city is famous for horse racing which happens twice a year, Palio di Siena. If you want to experience this world-famous event come here on 2 of July or 15 of August but book your hotel a couple of months in advance as it gets really really crowded. After you see Siena around, in the evening, I would recommend one very lovely and very old Italian restaurant for dinner Osteria le Logge.

  4.  Monterosso, Cinque Terre

Monterosso is a very tiny city located on a cliff by the sea. You will see lots of colorful houses located right on the rocks and strong vawes that trying to crash those rokes every minute. Take some jacket with you because it is a very windy spot of Italy. A half day is more than enough to go around and enjoy Monterosso but it is a must visit. For food, there is not much to try, I guess just Nessun Dorma, the cafe on the top of the rock would be a great option because the view.

  5.  Portovenere, Cinque Terre

Portovenere is located right on the coast and has beautiful yacht bay. Here you will see lovely colorful houses and enjoy beautiful warm sea breath. The other side of the city is surrounded by rocks, lots of amazing spots to get gorgeus photos. To me, it is a perfect place to get a glass of Tuscan wine. My personal favorite restaurant here is Le Bocche.

  6.  Montecatini

This vallage, I just love for its simplicity. I stayed one week here and it made me feel like home. Everything you would posibly need is in the walking distance. Montecatini is famous for its thermal waters. You can get a ticket and try some of them in the morning from 8 till 12. Also, there are three super great restaurants that you should visit La Cascina (amazing terrace and beutiful garden), Osteria di Poneta (true Tuscan pasta with top quality meat) and Fishing Lab (delicious Mediterraneanan bites). Don’t forget to make a reservation if you are comming for dinner. Moreover, in Montecatini, there is a place with the best Italian ice cream/gelato located right on the corner of Grand Hotel & La Pace. I insist that you try it.

  7.  Pisa

Last but not least, you have to make a quick stop at Pisa just for photos with famous Pisa Tower. I wouldn’t recommend to stay, eat or even have a coffee there, because the city in itself is not as beautiful as the rest of Tuscany. A couple of hours is more than enouph. Be creative and have fun with Pisa Tower, would love if you tag me.

My 3 Favorite Restaurants in London for French Toast

French Toast is one of my favorite breakfast of all times especially if I am in London or Dubai. In Russia, I don’t usually order them because we have other fun options as pancakes and cottage cheese dishes. But during my last trip to London, I had a very important mission to fulfill, to find the best french toast in town.  Of course, there are so many restaurants and I didn’t have a chance to try all of them. Nevertheless, I was lucky enough to find a couple of great ones. Hope it will be a useful little guide for those who are also in love with this delicious breakfast.

  1. Duck & Waffle

I know people supposed to come for Duck&Waffle dish to this restaurant but honestly, I think the best dish on the menu, it’s a French Toast. Although they call it differently, TORREJAS and recommend to share it. If I go there again, I skip the main and order just this with a cup of coffee or tea plus I’m going to share my French Toast with nobody. Don’t get me wrong, the other things I tried were good but French Toast there is something really amazing.

  • Name – on the menu TORREJAS (Serves Two)
  • Price £16 (to share the price is great but not the dessert)

      2. Four Seasons on Park Lane

I discovered this dish at the Four Season actually by pure luck. I was sitting in the hotel lobby with a friend of mine and having tea, then I felt for something sweet but nothing was appealing to me on the menu. Then talking to a waitress she asked me, What usually do you like to eat for sweets? As a joke, I answered a French Toast. She said we can make it, you are in a 5-star hotel, the no answer doesn’t exist here. So they made a French Toast just for me and honestly it was one of the best ever. Definitely coming back on my next trip.

  • Name – French Toast, it is off the menu but just ask for it
  • Price £14 (not sure exactly because I paid together with a tea £17)

      3. Aubaine

My all time favorite restaurant for breakfasts and brunches is Aubaine. Living in Dubai, I used to go there quite often. So to keep up with a tradition I decided to try it in London as well. They always do excellent French Toast although lately they try to modify and make it more interesting as French Toast Croissant with banana and bacon or French Toast Croissant with mix berries. Do not order these modifications, I personally didn’t like it. Just ask them to do off the menu traditional way with berries and maple syrup.

  • Name – French Toast ask for classic one
  • Price – £11.5

Let me know if you also a French Toast fun and if you know other great places to try it. I also learn from you.

Asado at The Palace Downtown, Dubai

Asado is Argentinian restaurant located in the heart of Dubai and specializes in top quality meat. In fact, it is one of the best places to get a great steak. I have been there three times and always my experiences were wonderful. I tried there almost everything grilled seafood platter, grilled meat platter, and different starters. Asado has a great variety of dishes on the menu, so you will definitely find your favorite one. However, if you are planning to visit this place, I would personally recommend ordering grilled meat platter to share. It is my favorite there which comes with a mix of the best meat such as rib eye, goat, chicken, and many others. Extremely delicious, plus they put it on top of the hot coals so it stays warm for a long time. Last time, me and my friend got so full and honestly, couldn’t finish it all. Besides amazing food, they do excellent cocktails at Asado. I tried a couple of them, it was just perfect with the food and lovely Dubai weather. Last but not least, when you sit on the terrace you can see a beautiful fountain and Burj Khalifa right in front of you. Spectacular experience to have it.

Uilliam’s on Patriarchy Lake, Moscow

A couple of months back a friend of mine introduced me to a wonderful restaurant calls Uilliam’s. It is located at the most fashionable and cool spot in Moscow, Patriarchy Lake. In fact, a majority of the best Moscow restaurants for young generation is there. From the first time that I tried Uilliam’s, I liked it so much. They have a very small menu but everything full of creativity and excellent ingredients. Here you will try dishes that you won’t try in any other place. The restaurant inside is quite small and you might feel sitting super close to each other but in my opinion, this is what it makes so cozy. Perfect to spend cold days in such a warm and lovely ambiance. Besides, delicious main menu, Uilliam’s serves excellent breakfasts. From all people that I know everyone loved this restaurant, except one vegan girl. But would make sense because they cook what they cook and it is impossible to tailor on the go some unique dishes. Personally, I have been there for around 10 times and always enjoy my food and time at Uilliam’s. Last but not least, for those who just getting to know me and my blog, I write only about things that I really think it worth to try. FUME Restaurant, Dubai

img_8021FUME is one of the most popular restaurants in Dubai. There you can find plenty of choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  For any taste and diet there is a solution, plus the chef can tailor some of the dishes to your taste. I have been in FUME for around 6 times, two in the downtown branch and four in Pier 7, Dubai Marina. It is not a Michelin starred food experience, rather a great place to gather with friends. My favorite menu there is for breakfast as it offers great healthy choices. However, I know many people love to come there after work to get a glass of wine or beer. For a lunch, I personally have a mixed feeling about the food. Some dishes I like and some I wouldn’t order it again. But in general, I am super picky with the food and also, my Russian origin can play some role in my food preferences.

Regarding the service, I also have a comment. One time in FUME Pier 7 I was treated rather rude than polite by some British lady when I wanted to sit at a specific table. The restaurant was almost empty and she was trying to give the worst table ever. Maybe that lady just had a bad day, after all we all have such days but with such experience, I didn’t want to go there for many months. So I hope it was an exception rather than their daily way of dealing with customers.  Of course, if you come as a press you will be treated excellent everywhere, that is why I like to come as a simple customer to see a true quality of food and service.

Moving on, the interior there is quite nice and different. The place has many modern details, true character and lots of day light. Aw… almost forgot to mention about gorgeous view of the yacht bay and lovely water channel. In conclusion, FUME restaurant is a great simple place to come with a big group of friends and have some fun. If you tried this restaurant already, let me know about your experiences, I would love to know your opinion about it.

  • Location – Fume Pier 7 & Downtown Dubai
  • Cuisine – British
  • Food quality – great for breakfast and snacks, the rest was nothing special
  • Food Presentation – simple food with little decorations
  • Service – average, sometimes excellent sometimes rude
  • Ambiance – nice and cozy place
  • Parking – very convenient and easy
  • Price – $$$

ZOCO, Mexacan Food in Dubai

I like Mexican cuisine but for many years I couldn’t find a good restaurant in Dubai. Luckily, I came across ZOCO and would like to share my experience with you. ZOCO located close to downtown in Habtoor city next to new water channel, in between St. Regis Dubai and W hotel on Sheikh Zaid Rd. I heard many nice things about the place and was really excited. I decided to go for a branch so I can try many dishes in a relaxed ambiance and enjoy my weekend. When I entered I saw a very nice interior, cozy atmosphere, and friendly employees. For the branch, they have a set menu so you just come and relax without thinking what to order. Besides, the waiter asked about my food preferences and allergies. During the meal, there was Spanish live music with very fun energetic songs. The food started to arrive very quick, of course it was famous guacamole with nachos, tacos, burittos and etc. For the main course, I got dishes with nachos, fajitas, and other things. At the end of the meal in ZOCO you get a tray with the variety of different sweets, donats and in-house made ice-cream. The full branch menu I uploaded below. Even thought the restaunat position itself as a street food concept, the place has a feel of relaxing fine dinning. Last but not least, all employees working in ZOCO are super friendly, nice and professional. I deffinitly recoment to put ZOCO in your Dubai “to do” list, you will definitely enjoy it.

Senara Grilled Seafood on the Island

Last week I discovered a wonderful restaurant Senara which is located in the Yacht Bay on Palm Jumeirah. Great place to have dinner with a group of friends or a date with a beloved one. The menu mainly contains seafood choices so it is a perfect place for me. In fact, this my favorite type of food. For a starter, I tried shrimps avocado salad, lobster roll, and smoked salmon. For the main course, I ordered seafood platter to share with half lobster, oysters, shrimps and grilled veggies on a side. All these dishes were super delicious and grilled in a perfect way. After the food, I also took a coffee with two desserts, one sticky pudding, and the other banoffee. The photos of each dish you can see below. I definitely recommend trying this amazing place, especially if you like grilled seafood. Personally, I think the location and food there are just fantastic.

Fish Beach Taverna at Le Meridien Resort

Fish Beach Taverna is the perfect place for those who like to have a relaxing dinner by the beach. The restaurant is located in a 5-star hotel, Le Meridien Mina Seyahi. Interior is done in Mediterranean style with lots of simple elements, it reminded me of a typical Greek village. Also, the sea surrounding creates a vocational touch to it. All dishes I tried, were super delicious and felt it was done with love. I got so cozy there, almost like I came for vacation to my grandmother. Do not dress to empress, if you are planning to visit Fish Beach Taverna. You would feel very comfy and appropriate wearing a simple outfit, like linen dress with flats or wedges. In this charming restaurant, you can be yourself and just enjoy your time and food.

Busaba Eathai in Dubai

Busaba Eathai is a famous restaurant in London which was recently opened in Dubai. They serve Thai cuisine with traditional and contemporary dishes. I was invited there for a long dinner and food review with around 25 of other bloggers. It was a first time for me to come across this place and quite fun to get to know new people. Employees at Busaba Eathai prepared for us set up menu, as well as before our meal they also asked about our food preferences. For example, some people were vegetarians, some didn’t tolerate spicy food and some preferred extra spicy. So they took care of each and every.

I liked that our meal was done with high-quality ingredients, and was slightly spicy (with a touch of chilly). I don’t tolerate very spicy food so the level they prepared was just perfect. Also, Busaba Eathai has very nice ambience like candles everywhere, relaxing music and a lovely smell of Thai oils. Plus, the interior is great with high-end wooden tables and luxurious minimalistic touch.

In general, I like Asian cuisine and after Busaba Eathai experience I like it even more. They had absolutely great food. All seafood dishes tasted delicious, all meat was done excellent and other feasts were just amazing. After the dinner, I wasn’t even sure what was my favorite because I truly liked everything. I tried a couple of Thai restaurants in Dubai before and in my opinion, Busaba Eathai is one of the best. Last but not least, if you decide to try it, there are free underground parking for 3 hours right next to the restaurant.

  • Location – The Beach, Jumeirah Beach Residence

Grom Ice cream or Delicious Life

Recently I came across amazing ice cream shop which I would like to review today. Famous Italian brand Grom has been on the market for quite a long time in Europe and now they opened shops in Dubai as well. There are 3 places where you can get it here, in Mall of the Emirates, The Dubai Mall, and Box Park. If you live in Europe please check it out their location on the official website. So Grom is one of the best ice cream brands for a couple of reasons,

  • it has 100% natural ingredients
  • delicious taste
  • no preservatives or other toxic staff
  • it digests very easy and doesn’t create stomach aches and bloating

Before I didn’t believe that ice cream could be healthy. Once I was trying to move to healthier options and I bought Greek Frozen yogurt. Was it healthy? Yes. Was it tasty? No. That is why I know how hard is to find a balance between healthy and tasty but it is definitely possible. For example, one scoop of my favorite Dark Chocolate flavor has 120 kcal according to iPhone app MyFitnessPal. Plus I honestly like the taste of it. My favorite flavors are Mango Sorbet and Dark Chocolate. Moreover, it is really made from cocoa not artificial flavorings as most of the ice creams on the market.

So of course, at the end of the day, the choice is yours. But myself I love to have perfect health and fitted body without avoiding delicious part of our life. I do enjoy good food so if you have a similar approach to life, you should try Grom. Last but not least, in their coffee shops, you also can get some Italian delights and high-quality coffee. Please feel free to leave comments below about your Grom experience or if you just have some additional questions.

Farzi Café, Fun Experience of Indian Cuisine

Farzi Café is one of the must visit places in Dubai. It is located in the new area City Walk 2 which is part of the Downtown Dubai. The restaurant specializes in the Contemporary Indian Cuisine so great spot for those who like spicy food. I have to say, I am not a fan of Indian cuisine and spicy food but I heard so much about the place from my friends so when I got an invitation to Farzi Café, I accepted it without a doubt.

I went to the restaurant with two of my other friends and we had one of the nicest food experience in our life. When we entered, we were welcomed by very friendly employees who showed us around and gave us a very nice table. Then our waiter explained the set menu which was prepared for all guests that night. Also, he asked about allergies, food preferences and the level of spiciness we can tolerate. When the food started to arrive we were amazed how cool everything looked. Every dish there had a different presentation with lots of fun things. Below you an see our starters, some veggie tacos, molecular mango  and popcorn drink.

Each course and beverage were an experience. The presentation was so beautiful and creative. We tried 6 mocktails, all of them tasted great and looked great. Our food was amazing as well, a bit spicy but delicious. So whatever you order, you will be pleasantly surprised. Besides, in the menu, there are lots of vegetarian, seafood and meat options. Therefore each person will find something to his/her taste. Especially coming the first time, you will have a blast.

Last but not least, our dessert was just unbelievably good. It called Dirt Pile and looked like a soil. When the waiter came with a trowel, we couldn’t stop laughing. Then when I asked, How to Eat It; our waiter said, Just Dig. It was crazy fun digging for delicious dirt desert. In fact, it was chocolate cake crashed into small pieces with an ice cream on the side. Yummy!!!

  • Location – City Walk 2 near Reel Cinema, Dubai
  • Cuisine – Modern Indian
  • Food quality – excellent, everything is fresh and delicious
  • Food Presentation – amazing and very artistic
  • Welcome – 1st visit ☆☆☆☆☆ (very bad) and 2nd visit ★★★★★ (very good)
  • Service – excellent waiters very friendly and caring
  • Ambience – beautiful modern decor, high ceiling so not much noise
  • Price – $$$
  • Overall Experience – ★★★★★

P.S. A little tip, if you are planning to visit Farzi Café, book your table in advance. Because once I tried to drop by with my friends, hosts (or two guys in the door who supposed to welcome people) were very rude to us and literary kicked us out. So I didn’t have a chance to try anything that night. It is also the way I like to check places before I write about them. Just to drop by to see how people really interact with the customers as well as I ask all my friends about their experience.

The Artisan Restaurant DIFC

The Artisan restaurant was recently opened in Dubai, in the popular area for fine dining DIFC. The place was done as a casual concept of famous 3 Micheline star restaurant in Florence, Enoteca Pinchiorri. As a big fan of Italian cuisine, I went there the week I read about it in the magazine. Once I entered I saw gorgeous interior with unique authentic paintings. Not only its beautiful inside, is very cozy and comfortable as well.

The menu has great choices for meat, seafood, and vegetarian eaters. Also, the cocktail selection is quite incredible. I went there with two friends so we ordered 3 mocktails, 3 starters, 3 main courses and 3 desserts. All of them were different because we were curious to try everything. When we got our order, I was impressed by food presentation as well as the taste of it. I loved everything we tried, my personal favorites were ice cube lemonade, grilled octopus, seafood pasta, and tiramisu. These are the dishes I will be ordering again and again. But as I said, everything was excellent and delicious.

After a couple of visits, The Artisan became one of my favorite Italian restaurant in Dubai and I am happy to recommend it to all my friends. I think it is a great place to have lunch with friends or to have a dinner during the date night. Try it and share your food experience, would love to know what is your favorite dish at The Artisan Dubai.

The Coffee Club, Australian Coffee in Dubai

One of the finest Australian coffee shops is now proudly open in Dubai. The Coffee Club is a legendary café which serves the finest coffee since 1989. The concept includes as well excellent meals from breakfast till dinner at very affordable prices. So I and my friends decided to come and check this place out.

To start, The Coffee Club is located in a very convenient place near Downtown Dubai on Al Wasl Rd. next to City Walk. Also, it is in a new beautiful area which has many other shops so there are easy access and lots of free parking. When we entered we saw the modern design and welcoming staff.

The menu was quite surprising, because of a huge variety of great dishes that not even every restaurant can afford to have. The breakfast served all day long which is amazing for people who wake up late. Also, lots of choices for those who like to eat healthy.

We got really lost seeing lots of appealing photos on the menu but finally made our choice. So we ordered

  • Pomegranate and date salad
  • Pizza with feta
  • Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon
  • Pancake stack
  • Granny’s apple crumble
  • Iftar special dessert
  • Sparkling frappés passionate
  • Raspberry iced tea
  • Mango iced tea
  • Three cups of coffee

When the food arrived we were amazed how delicious everything looked, I would say even better than on pictures. So we started our meal and every dish made me extremely satisfied. Everything was tasty, smell great and super fresh. Pizza was very crispy and tasty. The salad had beautiful dressing and great touch. All desserts were just outstanding. Plus drinks were absolutely amazing. They really exceeded my expectation because most of the cafés specialize only on coffee but not the food. Where is here excellence at every level.

Besides great food, it is the perfect place to meet with friends or come with a laptop to work. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the place is very cozy. In conclusion, the absolutely amazing coffee shop which I recommend all my friends and readers.
